About the artist
I am Monique Beverloo
A Dutch contemporary abstract artist, living and creating my work in Alicante, Spain.
Why Mique
My father always called me Mique. That is how the name Art by Mique came about, and it still holds a special meaning for me.
The Mediterranean
Living in Spain has become an important influence on my work. The warm earth tones, weathered walls, natural stone and Mediterranean light always find their way into my paintings.
Materials
With a deep love for art and years of experience in painting techniques, I work with mixed media, acrylics, textures and layered materials. Every painting is handcrafted with high-quality materials, made to last.
I want my work to add more than colour to an interior. I want it to create atmosphere: something you discover every time you look at it.
